About Oakland Aviation Museum

Summer nights come alive here with live shows surrounded by hillside views becoming one of Oakland's best go-to spots for outdoor theater.

Why Visit the Oakland Aviation Museum?

Woodminster Amphitheater is honestly one of the coolest places to catch live performances outdoors in Oakland. It is situated in Joaquin Miller Park and is an open-air theater sitting right against the hillside, surrounded by tall trees that offers a magical setting for hosting live shows, right under the stars. You can catch musicals, concerts, and fun local theater productions happening every summer, with everything from family classics to romantic shows under the stars. The seating is built into the hillside, so you are promised a great view no matter where you sit, and the atmosphere is super chill and laid-back.

People even bring snacks or picnic dinners to enjoy during the show. It's a budget-friendly night out too, with affordable tickets and discounts for seniors and kids. You can also catch some free events happening here sometimes too. The best time to visit the place is during summer evenings when the warm air brings a completely different vibe to the place. After the show, you can also explore nearby places like the beautiful trails in Joaquin Miller Park or head over to Montclair Village for cafés and dining options. It is a highly recommended spot to visit with your loved ones and is definitely one of Oakland's best spots for a fun, memorable night out amidst nature.
